The Orchard is a large Independent Lifestyle destination encompassing indoor and outdoor living, garden centre, pet store and cafe. We are seeking an experienced retail sales assistant. This is an interesting and varied role. We are looking for a person who is passionate about people and loves working in a busy retail environment. To be successful as a Retail Sales Assistant, you should be confident, highly organized and an excellent communicator.

Full Time Horticultural Sales Assistant
The Orchard are seeking an experienced garden centre sales assistant for our historic walled garden centre based in Kildare. Our team emphasis is on customer experience and are sales driven. Candidate should have a passion for all things gardening.
Key Responsibilities:
- Driving sales under the direction of the garden centre manager
- Maintaining high retail, merchandising, cleanliness and Health and Safety standards within the store and exterior
- Merchandising stock and creating powerful displays to company guidelines
- Delivering expert advice to customers
- Customer focused with excellent relationship management skills
- Ability to work well with other team members
- Have a high degree of knowledge of plants, fertilizing, pruning, pest diseases
The ideal candidate should have:
- A keen horticultural / gardening interest
- 1 year horticulture diploma or 2 years’ experience in a similar environment
- Thorough knowledge of plants and understanding of the maintenance of plants
- Passion for retail
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to both work on their own and as part of a team
- Qualification to horticultural level 7 an advantage
