A good tip for any gardener is to keep note of all your gardening information. Make a list of what you plant in the garden, including plant name, brand, variety, planting date, etc. During the growing season keep notes on how well the plants are doing and record any problems and what was used to treat them. You can refer back to this in future years and this will help with garden planning.
Now's the perfect time to check your fences, trellis' and pergolas before climbers burst into growth and make the job more tricky. You can make any repairs or improvements as necessary and install any new features you want for the coming year.
If you have an outdoor area which you would like to brighten up then why not try some trellis or fencing, which you can brightly paint to add colour, or use as a structure for fast growing climbing plants. Clematis, ivy, roses and Virginia creeper are perfect choices.
Attract a wonderful array of birds to your garden during winter by leaving out some wild bird feed or suet balls and some clean fresh water.
